FREE Concert At Cabrini Sunday

At a free concert at Cabrini College, pianist Karen Walwyn will perform original music inspired by the events of Sept. 11, 2001. “Reflections on 9/11,” a seven-movement work for solo piano, is set for Sunday, Nov. 7 at 3 p.m. in the Mansion on the Cabrini campus (610 King of Prussia Road, Radnor).

As Artist-in-Residence at the Debose Fine Arts Festival, Walwyn debuted “Reflections on 9/11” (Albany Records) at the National Piano Competition in Baton Rouge, La. The compact disc recording was reviewed by Robert Schulslaper in the Jan/Feb 2009 issue of Fanfare Magazine.

An assistant professor of piano at Howard University, Walwyn has performed throughout the United States and in Spain, Austria, England, and France. She made her New York recital debut on The Interpretations Series at Merkin Concert Hall, which was quickly followed by her debut performance on National Public Radio.
