TUBACHRISTMAS Philadelphia conductor and coordinator Jay Krush is a founding member of the Grammy®-Award winning Chestnut Brass Company, tubist with the Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra and a faculty member at the Boyer College of Music at Temple University.

TUBACHRISTMAS was conceived as a tribute to the late artist and educator William J. Bell, who was born on Christmas Day in 1902.  The first TUBACHRISTMAS celebration was conducted in New York City’s Rockefeller Plaza Ice Rink on December 22, 1974.  TUBACHRISTMAS takes place in over 200 cities and towns throughout the world; the movement has grown exponentially over the past three decades, and today thousands of spirited brass players participate in the festivities.
