Join the book discussion group "Nature's Narratives" as they discuss The Earth Moved: On the Remarkable Achievements of Earthworms by Amy Stewart.  Publishers Weekly  noted that “In this absorbing, if occasionally gross, treatise, gardening journalist Stewart (From the Ground Up) delves into their dank subterranean world, detailing their problem-solving skills, sex lives (Darwin noted their "sexual passion") and shocking ability to re-grow a whole body from a severed segment (scientists have even sutured together parts of three different earthworms into a single Frankenworm).” “Nature’s Narratives” is a book discussion group sponsored by the Scott Arboretum where readers come together to discuss a book once a month and to share in the reading experience.
The discussions are free and open to the public and will take place in the Scott Arboretum Horticultural Library. Participants will need to read each month’s selection prior to the discussion. The Scott Arboretum is an educational garden of ideas and suggestions. Covering more than 300 acres of the Swarthmore College Campus and exhibiting over 4,000 different kinds of plants, the Arboretum displays some of the best trees, shrubs, perennials, and annuals for use in the Delaware Valley. Established in 1929 as a living memorial to Arthur Hoyt Scott, the Arboretum is open to the public year-round free of charge, from dawn to dusk. Adam Levine in the November/December 2002 issue of Garden Design magazine described the Scott Arboretum of Swarthmore College as "the most beautiful campus in America."
