Historic Architecture Presentation
Everyone interested in historic buildings and their restoration is invited to a FREE presentation on the restoration work being done at the Colonial Pennsylvania Plantation 1p.m, Saturday (March 19) in the Mansion at Ridley Creek State Park, off Gradyville Road in Edgmont.
Claire Donato, R.A., LEED AP, Senior Associate and Director of Restoration and Historic Architecture for Mark B. Thompson Associates LLC (MBTA), will present the program which focuses on the traditional building materials and construction exemplified by the Plantation’s buildings. Additionally, it will focus on a comparison of the Plantation’s architectural history and restoration with 17th and 18th century projects in the Philadelphia area using the firm’s work at the Belmont Mansion as an example.
