Wetland Scientist To Speak At CRC Meeting

  “Source Water Protection and the Crum Creek Reservoir” will be presented 2 p.m. Sun. (April 3) at The Old Mill. The public is invited to hear Jane Rowan, Professional Wetland Scientist,  speak at  the spring meeting and educational lecture of the Chester-Ridley-Crum Watersheds Association (CRC). The historic Old Mill at Rose Valley located off of Rose Valley Road, 9 Old Mill Lane (across from the Hedgerow Theater).
   Rowan is an Ecologist, PWS (Professional Wetland Scientist) and AP LEED.  She currently is the Director of Ecological Solutions for The Bioengineering Group and is the former president of the American Water Resources Association.  Her talk will share highlights of the Source Water Protection Study of Crum Creek and the Springton Reservoir.  She will also discuss what she has learned during her 30-years of experience in protecting ecological communities, and involving the public in source water protection.
   Following Rowan’s presentation, there will be an optional guided hike of the Long Point Wildlife Sanctuary in Rose Valley led by Dr. Roger Latham, Conservation Biologist.
