FREE Irish Festival Sunday!

The 13th annual Irish Festival is a family event that features well-known Irish musical performers. The
gates will open at noon on Sunday and admission is free. Guests can enjoy the music of
    The Philadelphia Irish Festival returns to the Great Plaza at Penn’sSunday, June 5th from 12:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. This authentic and vibrant Irish Festival celebrates Irish culture through food, dancing and crafts.Jamison, Blackthorn and the Hooligans on the main stage. Irish dance schools including Celtic Flame, Emerald Isle, Cummins, Coyle, Campbell, Rince Ri, McDade, Cara, McHugh, Christina Ryan Kilcoyne, Gibson,Timoney, 2nd St. Irish Society will perform throughout the day.   In addition to great musical performances, the Irish Festival has something for people of all ages.
There will be bagpipers, face painting, and Irish dancing along with a Free Kids Zone sponsored by
John Dougherty and IBEW Local 98. Celebrities from CBS3 and the Irish Community will also be
mingling with the crowd. Local Irish dance schools will conduct dance exhibitions and non stop
performances in the tent area and at the main stage all day long.
Food Vendors will be serving Irish favorites such as Shepherd’s Pie and Bangers and mashed potatoes. Over 40 different vendors will be selling authentic and traditional Irish goods and crafts.
Admission is
.FREE for all PECO Multicultural Series events. KYW Newsradio and NBC 10 are proud media partners of the series.

The 2011 Summer Program of Free Events at Penn’s Landing is funded and produced by theDelaware River Waterfront Corporation (DRWC). All events produced by DRWC are FREE to thepublic on the new RiverStage at the Great Plaza, the heart of Penn's Landing, Philadelphia’s premier Delaware River waterfront entertainment destination. The DRWC is a nonprofit corporation created in January 2009, exclusively for the benefit of the City of Philadelphia and its citizens. The
fundamental purpose of DRWC is to design, develop, and manage the central Delaware River waterfront in Philadelphia. DRWC intends to transform the waterfront into a vibrant destination location for recreational, cultural, and commercial activities for the residents and visitors of Philadelphia.
