FREE Rare Coin Presentation
Newtown Square Historical Preservation Society
Wednesday, May 18, 2011 HOLDING RARE COINS AND BILLS?
The Newtown Square Historical Society presents Frank Greenberg of the Delaware Valley Rare Coin Company, Inc., member of PNG, the Professional Numismatists Guild, since 1980. The program will be presented at the Dunwoody Village Auditorium on May 18th, beginning at 8:00 PM. This may be the time to check out that old box of money from under your bed. With the value of Silver and Gold going through the roof, you may discover that your old box should really be kept in a bank vault and listed beside other valuables in your will. We are pleased to have our Broomall neighbor and Numismatist expert, Frank Greenberg, offering where to get information regarding the value, cost, sale, and general upkeep of your beautifully kept coin collection or that old jar of coins you buried in the back yard. Do you still have a dollar bill that promises gold in return? Perhaps you have your Great Uncle John’s dollar with Hawaii stamped on the back during World War II to distinguish it from Japanese counterfeits dollars.
Have you ever held an old copper coin from the Revolutionary War and wondered about the soldier that may have carried it at Valley Forge? Old Coins are treasured links to our past and, because of their value, many coins survived. Old coins and bills have fascinating stories behind them, as well as being a satisfying hobby or profitable investment.
Bring a couple of your favorites and after the presentation you can have them evaluated. Fifteen minutes prior to the program, the Society will hold a brief general meeting for the public. Come early to get the inside track on our exciting plans for Historic Newtown Square Day to be held on Saturday, June 4th
Refreshments will be served, offering the opportunity to network and meet your neighbors. More details can be found on the Society’s website: http/www.historicnewtownsquare.org/
