FREE Play Festival At Hedgerow Theatre

The New Play Festival at Hedgerow Theatre features staged readings of four new works.
"Her Red Umbrella" by Brian Tuttle of Cambridge, Mass., Aug. 6 at 4 p.m., is a comedy about a writer who attempts to return an umbrella to its rightful owner, a beautiful Harvard student.
  "Natural History" by Jennifer Camp of Media, Aug. 7 at 7:30 p.m., is four scenes set at the Museum of Natural History in New York City, each named for the wing in which it’s set.
"Conversations With God" by Maggie Farrell of Hatboro, Aug. 8 at 7:30 p.m., is a comedy about a woman who’s forced to meet her maker and deal with how her preconceptions of God don’t match reality. Farrell is currently a Hedgerow intern.
   "The Reader’s Club" by Margie Royal of Media, Aug. 13 at 4 p.m., is a mystery in which secrets, hidden agendas and a dead body mark the September meeting of a new book club. Several of Royal’s plays have received full productions at Hedgerow, including "Tales From Poe", "The Scarlet Pimpernel" and "The Snow Queen".
   The final playreading , the "August Wilson Collection", Aug. 2 at 7:30 p.m, is a selection of scenes from the Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, performed by renowned local actor Brian Anthony Wilson, whose numerous TV and movie credits include appearing in all five seasons of HBO’s acclaimed series, "The Wire".
   Admission to the playreadings is FREE, although donations are appreciated.
