FREE Boxing Exhibit Available to Visit

Delaware County Boxing Chronicles

The Delaware County Boxing Chronicles have been donated and are on display at the Mickey Vernon Sports History Museum. Compiled by boxing historian Chuck Hasson, the Chronicles are a two-volume set of newspaper clippings and pictures which cover the history of boxing in Delaware County from 1880 to 1999. This one of a kind piece of work is presently on display and available at the museum for anyone to view or who might be interested in researching a family member or friend who boxed in our county.
Hasson, who is one of the top boxing historians in the country, has also written two other books on the sport of boxing. Locally, he published a book entitled, "The Delaware County Boxing Record and Capsule History", which was a popular edition to the history of boxing in our county. Then in 2002, he co-wrote "Philadelphia's Boxing Heritage (1876-1976)" which sold quite well nationally.
He is also the assistant editor of PhillyBoxingHistory.com, a website dedicated to Philadelphia boxing, and a voting member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, New York.
Hasson carries the baton as the definitive expert on Philadelphia's boxing legacy based on his countless nights at local fights, evenings at the Philly gyms and endless hours in the library.
Those interested in visiting the museum, one Beaver Hill Road in Chadds Ford, can go Tuesday through Friday from 10am to 2pm On Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, it is available for group tours only. Admission is FREE.
