FREE Friday Night Concerts in July

2011 Free Summer Concert Series Kicks Off July 
   The Community Arts Center, 414 Plush Mill Road in Wallingford, continues its tradition of free outdoor concerts on the grounds of the Arts Center on Friday nights in July at 7 p.m. beginning on July 8. The 2011 Free Summer Concert Series is sponsored by Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.  Bring a blanket or lawn chair and enjoy music under the stars at this family event featuring a diverse lineup of performers from the Philadelphia metropolitan area.
  People can come early for dinner and purchase burgers, hot dogs and Rosati's water ice or bring their own picnic and beverage of choice.
   The 2011 Free Summer Concert Series Performers include:
July 8, Tres Compadres - Modern flamenco ensemble that combines jazz influences with Spanish flamenco and includes a traditional flamenco dancer;
  July 15, Karen Rodriguez Latin Jazz Ensemble - This Latin jazz group presents Salsa, Merengue, Mambo and more.  Karen sings in Spanish and English, further diversifying her sound;
   July 22, Flying Home - Specializing in the Great American Songbook, the group covers material from George Gershwin, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington, Django Reinhardt and others of the swing era;
   July 29, Sonoma Sound - Will Paynter and this eclectic roots ensemble perform music that blends blues, reggae, folk, and other traditions.  Opening the show will be solo artist, Jahiti, presenting original tunes in a unique style that he calls "world country soul."
    In case of rain, concerts will be held indoors in the Duke Gallery at the CAC.  The Community Arts Center is at 414 Plush Mill Road in Wallingford.
