FREE EVENTS FOR SENIOR CITIZENS

Medicare 101 Session at Crozer Library

Chester, PA — July 28 — Are you or someone you know turning 65? Get the details that you need to know about your health care options at a Medicare 101 session, held at the J. Lewis Crozer Library on Thursday, August 11th at 1:00p.m. Join Ms. Kim Andrews, the APPRISE program coordinator, who will lead a free, short class on Medicare basics. There will also be time for questions and answers with the counselor. Find out the information you need to make the best decisions for your personal situation. Generously provided by APPRISE (a State Health Insurance Assistance Program SHIP), sponsored by Senior Community Services. Crozer Library is located at
620 Engle Street

OLLI To Host
Free Open House
The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) will host a free open house from 3 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 25, for people interested in attending its Fall courses for adults 50 and over. The event will take place at Widener University’s Exton Campus at
825 Springdale Drive, West
Whiteland. Light refreshments will be served.
OLLI is offering more than 60 courses in Exton beginning Sept. 12 on such subjects as history, computers, bridge, genealogy, health, science, art, literature, finance and sports. Among the topics are “America and the New Geopolitical Landscape,” “Let’s Decorate Together,” “The Civil War,” “Hiroshima to Fukushima, 70 Years of Nuclear Energy,” “Making Friends with the Zodiac,” “An Insider’s Guide to Internet Dating,” and “Adventures in Acrylic Painting.”
Three “OLLI in the Evening” courses will be available for working older adults who would like to experience OLLI’s classes: “Financial Workshop for Retirement,” “Reign of the Czars,” and “The U.S. Constitution and the Bill of Rights.” Maris Grove, a retirement community in Glen Mills, Pa., will host two courses: “The Impact of the Changing World” and “The American Past: Myth and Reality.”
Course catalogs will be available and guests will have an opportunity to meet many of the teachers and to register for classes.
