FREE Boxing Display

Delco Boxing Chronicles On Display
“The Delaware County Boxing Chronicles” has been donated and is on display at the Mickey Vernon Sports History Museum in Chadds Ford.
Compiled by boxing historian Chuck Hasson, the “Chronicles” is a two-volume set of newspaper clippings and pictures which cover the history of boxing in Delaware County from 1880 to 1999. The one-of-a-kind work is on display and available at the museum for anyone to view or use for research.
Hasson, who is one of the top boxing historians in the country, has also written two books about boxing. Locally, he published the book, The Delaware County Boxing Record and Capsule History, which was a popular edition to the history of boxing in the county. And in 2002, he co-wrote Philadelphia’s Boxing Heritage (1876-1976) which sold well nationally.
Hasson is also assistant editor of PhillyBoxingHistory.com, a website dedicated to Philadelphia area boxing, and is a voting member of the International Boxing Hall of Fame in Canastota, NY.
The museum is at one Beaver Hill Road, Chadds Ford, and is open 10 to 2, Tuesday through Friday. It is available for group tours on Saturday, Sunday, and Monday. Admission is free. For more information, contact Jim Vankoski at 610-909-4919.
