Tomorrow's Parade Is FREE FOR ALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!

V.P. Joe Biden To Join Delco Veterans’ Day Parade In Media
Vice President Joe Biden will join in Delaware County’s Veterans’ Day parade set for 11:11a.m., Friday, Nov. 11 in Media. He will be among many dignitaries and veterans to participate.
Veterans Day in Delco this year will include two major events: a concert featuring the John Philip Sousa Band at the Media Theater, at 5 and 7:30p.m., Thursday (Nov.10), and the 51st Annual Veterans Day Parade 11:11a.m., Friday (Nov. 11).
“Each year, we honor veterans who have bravely sacrificed their lives for our country’s freedom, and this year, we’re excited to have Vice President Joe Biden join us,” said Media Mayor Bob McMahon.
“We’re also pleased to bring the Sousa Band to Media the night before the parade, to further build a sense of patriotism and pride in those who have served,” said McMahon who is also Parade Organizer and a veteran. “The addition of the concert gives everyone a chance to participate who might not be able to do so otherwise on Veterans Day.”
The concert, which will represent the “Spirit of America” through the stirring strains of Sousa marches, show tunes and patriotic music, is a fundraiser for the US Veterans Legacy Project, Pennsylvania Veterans Museum and National Veterans Education Project.
The two-day celebration this year is “in honor of the 10th anniversary of the terrorist attacks on September 11, and the anniversaries of all major US wars, including the Civil War, World I and II, the Korean and Viet Nam Wars,” said McMahon.
The parade and ceremony, “Honoring all American Veterans” -- this year’s theme -- will kick off at 11:11a.m. All veterans and those in uniform are encouraged to attend with family and friends to salute those who have proudly served. The parade follows the traditional route west on State Street from Edgmont to Orange Street, north to Front Street and concludes before the reviewing stand at Delaware County Courthouse where the ceremony will be held.
The ceremony will feature the Flag Exchange in which veterans pass American and POW flags to younger people, signifying the sharing of their legacy of service. Winners of a countywide contest on this year’s theme will present their essays.
The Veterans Day events are coordinated by the U. S. Veterans Legacy Project, the Pennsylvania Veterans Museum, The National Veterans Education Project and the Delaware County Intermediate Unit.  The Museum, 12 E. State St., will be open for visitors throughout the day. Admission is free.
Tickets for the Sousa Band concert, $15 in advance, $20 at the door and $10 per person for groups of ten or more, are available at the box office or by calling 610-891-0100.
