PRO-ACT Offers Family Addiction Education

  Each month PRO-ACT (Pennsylvania Recovery Organization–Achieving Community Together) hosts a Family Addiction Education Program to help individuals and families recognize and address an addiction problem in a spouse, parent, child or other loved one.
  Led by trained volunteers who have been in the same situation, the information support programs begin on the first Tuesday of each month and run for three consecutive Tuesday evenings, from 7 to 9p.m. at Holcomb Behavioral Health Services in Media. The next session runs Jan. 3, 10 and 17.

   Senior Community Services' Center for Life Long Learning will be offering an 8-week session of “Ask Me 3,” beginning January 4, at 9:15, at Schoolhouse Center in Folsom. The program will have presentations that address symptom management for chronic illnesses.  Have one-on-one visits with an R.N., and blood pressure screening. Learn how to talk to your doctor with the goal of staying out of the hospital.  This is a no-charge proactive approach to help engage people in their own healthcare.
