FREE Fourth of July Fun!

Glenolden’s Fireworks On Saturday Night
  The Citizens of Glenolden 4th of July Committee will sponsor the annual fireworks display, accompanied by music, at dusk Sat. (June 30) in the field behind Interboro football field. The entrance will be along Harrison Ave.
  Food, glow necklaces and music provided by Skalish Productions will be available during the fireworks. Everyone is welcome.

Norwood Announces July 4th Festivities
  The Citizens’ Fourth of July Association of Norwood is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year with three days of special events to celebrate America’s Independence and the anniversary.
  On Mon., July 2, 7-9 pm, the 78th Army Band will perform in Kugler Park, Winona and Mohawk Aves., behind the Norwood Arch. Light refreshments will be available to purchase.
  On Tues., July 3, the Sensational Soul Cruisers will perform in concert 7-9 pm in the Norwood Lower Park, Winona Ave. and Amosland Rd., the Norwood AC baseball fields. The annual fireworks display will take place following the concert at dark. This year, the fireworks will be accompanied by music. Refreshments and glow necklaces will be on sale.
   Before the July 3 events, the committee will have a bucket brigade.
  On Wed., July 4, the parade and park activities will take place.
  Everyone in the community is invited to bring a chair or blanket and  participate in the events.

Drexel Hill Slates July 4 Bike Parade  Area residents are welcome to join the Pilgrim Gardens Civic Association in celebrating the Fourth of July at with a Bike Parade at Aronimink Elementary School.
    Registration for the bike decorating contest begins at 9:30a.m. and the parade begins at 10. The event is free for members of the Association (forms will be available) or $3 for non-members. Complimentary pretzels and water ice will be served and prizes will be awarded for best decorated bikes.
    The Aronimink Business Association is partnering with the Pilgrim Gardens Civic Association for this year's event.  There will be no rain date, so if weather is questionable, visit the Facebook page. For more information, call 610-331-2879 or e-mail gina.flatley@verizon.net.

Springfield’s Annual July 4th Celebration
  The Springfield annual Fourth of July Community Celebration (the 64th sponsored by the Springfield Lions Club) will be held Wednesday, July 4. (The rain date will be Saturday, July 7.) Postponement information will be broadcast on KYW 1060.
Parade Information:
  A parade led by Grand Marshall John Gallagher of the Springfield Fire Company will form in front of the Springfield High School at 8:30a.m. The parade starts at 9a.m. with the following route:
• West Leamy Avenue to Powell Road
• Left on Powell Road to Saxer Avenue
• Left on Saxer Avenue to Springfield Road
• Left on Springfield Road To Memorial Park
  Among the parade participants will be Springfield Police and Fire Police, American Legion Post #227, V.F.W. Post #5705, Springfield Fire Company, Springfield Ambulance Corps, Neighborhood Floats, Springfield High School Band, neighborhood floats, Historical Car Club of PA, and boys and girls bicycle, tricycle and strollers.
Bike Judging
  From 8 to 9a.m., judging of bikes at the S.H.S. parking lot will take place.
  Memorial Park Activities Starting At 10:30a.m. as follows:
• National Anthem by the Fire House Five Band
• Flag raising ceremony
• Greetings and salute to veterans
• Fire House Five Concert
• Free ice cream, games and prizes
• Field events (lower field) -- 50-yard dash, 100-yard dash, three-legged races and Springfield Run for Fun
