Free Programs at Local Senior Centers

Senior Community Services Center for Life Long Learning is offering a presentation on “Living the Tradition: Ballads for Now” on Thursday, October 28, 2010, 1:00 PM, at Schoolhouse Center, 600 Swarthmore Ave., Folsom. A seasoned entertainer, recording artist and storyteller, Bob Michel, draws on more than 40 years of performing experience.  Michel’s performances are records of journeys to places and times both near and far and of extraordinary encounters with ordinary people. Generously sponsored by the Pa. Humanities Council.

On Friday, October 20, 2010, 7:00 PM, Senior Community Services’ Center for Life Long Learning is offering a presentation on Medicare and Medicare D in 2011 at Schoolhouse Center in Folsom with APPRISE Coordinator, Kim Andrews. In late 2010, Medicare beneficiaries will have a chance to change their Medicare D Prescription Drug Insurance coverage. Let’s learn some of the reasons.

Senior Community Services’ Center for Life Long Learning is offering a presentation on the Caregiver Help Program, on Wednesday, October 20, 2010, 11:00 AM, at Good Neighbor Center, 1085 Hook Rd in Sharon Hill, with Instructor, Herb Jenkin.  Caring for an elderly family member can be a stressful as well as fulfilling experience.  With families caught between the demands of career, children and the needs of older loved one, the balance can be difficult.  Learn about publicly funded programs and fee for service programs that can assist you.
