76er To Read to Kids In Free Philly Event

On Saturday, March 5th from 2:30 to 3:00 PM Philadelphia 76er's Guard Lou Williams will be SMITH's special celebrity Story Time reader. SMITH welcomes all children 10 and under to this exciting event inside the Playhouse!  In addition to his on the court prowess, Lou is a true philanthropist.  In 2007, he established The Lou Williams Foundation, whose mission is, "Reaching to empower and inspire youth by combining athletics and education to motivate our youth to reach their highest, utmost potential with education being key."  He continues to give his talent and his treasures to better his community.

SMITH The Kids’ Play Place in the Park, East Fairmount Park (33rd and Oxford Streets, just inside the park)

SMITH The Kids’ Play Place in the Park is a private, non-profit organization dedicated to providing children age 10 and under with FREE and accessible one-of-a-kind play experiences that meet their physical, behavioral, and developmental needs. SMITH has been providing unique recreational opportunities to the children of the Philadelphia for more than 110 years.  SMITH is located above Kelly Drive near the intersection of 33rd and Oxford in East Fairmount Park. 

SMITH’s Playhouse is open year-round Tuesday-Sunday from 10AM to 4PM. The Playhouse offers children 5 and under the opportunity to “drive” the train, “cook” in the kitchen, ride tricycles in Smithville and much, much more.  The outdoor Playground is closed for the season and will re-open on April 1, 2011.
