Trash 2 Treasure Sale
Friday, June 10, 2011 ­-  Sunday, June 12, 2011, 10:00 a.m. -  ­5:00 p.m.
 
Swarthmore College - Lamb-Miller Fieldhouse
 
The fifth annual Trash 2 Treasure sale will take place over three days on the weekend of June 10-12, 2011 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the Lamb-Miller Fieldhouse at Swarthmore College. The sale will include everything from home appliances and furniture to clothing and school supplies, in new or good condition and at bargain prices. The sale is open and free to the public. The morning of the first day of the sale, shoppers can opt to pay a small entrance fee for the “early bird special” so they may enter in advance (from 8 - 10 a.m.) and preview the sale. Members of the Swarthmore College community with valid ID will gain free entrance to the early bird special.

Join Claire Sawyers, director, for a free tour of the Scott Arboretum. Explore what looks stunning at the Scott Arboretum in June. The tour will begin at the Scott Arboretum offices and is free and open to the public. In case of inclement weather, the tour will be canceled. For more information, please call the Scott Arboretum offices at 610-328-8025.

Scott Associates' Garden Day
Sunday, June 12, 2011, 1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
 
Off Campus- Kennett Square area
 
See glorious gardens created and maintained by gardeners like you and get tips from these gardeners at the Scott Associates' Garden Day. Visit gardens in the Kennett Square area to learn about the plant combinations other gardeners are using. This is a great opportunity to see firsthand how gardens grow in the Greater Philadelphia Area.
The Scott Associates' Garden Day Tour is Sunday, June 12 from 1 to 5 p.m., followed by a reception at a private garden from 4 to 6 p.m. Admission is free for members; nonmembers can purchase tickets for $25 for adults and $15 for children. Members will be mailed descriptions and directions to the gardens a month before the event. Non-members can contact the Scott offices at 610-328-8025 for a map and advance tickets.

Guided Tour: Green Roof
Wednesday, June 15, 2011, 5:00 p.m. - 6:30 p.m.
 
Swarthmore College - Scott Arboretum Offices
 
Learn about the inner workings, benefits, and beauty of green roofs while exploring the three we have at the Arboretum. Please note the level of difficulty on these tours is higher than others we offer; a brisk walk and several steps are required to reach the final roof. Children under the age of 12 are not permitted on the roofs.
