Support the ‘Parents Who Host, Lose the Most’ campaign!
MEDIA, PA — One-third of teenagers have attended parties in which parents were present and substance use by teens occurred, including alcohol use and use of illegal drugs, according to the National Center on Addiction and Substance Abuse, 2006. The "Parents Who Host, Lose The Most: Don't be a party to teenage drinking" public awareness campaign was developed by Drug-Free Action Alliance to educate parents about the health and safety risks of serving alcohol at teen parties, and to increase awareness of and compliance with the Underage Drinking Laws.
Through lawn signs, window clings, posters, stickers, and parent pledge cards displaying the slogan, "Parents Who Host Lose the Most: Don't be a party to teenage drinking", this public awareness campaign focuses on familiarizing adults with PA underage drinking laws and the ramifications of breaking those laws, increasing awareness of health risks of underage drinking, reducing the number of parents who allow youth to use alcohol at parties, and decreasing youth access to alcohol.
Want to know how to get involved? Become a Community Partner or a Community Supporter! Community Partners will distribute 10 lawn signs, 10 posters, 100 pledge cards to be signed, 100 stickers, and 20 window clings in their community. Community Supporters will sign a pledge card and display 1 lawn sign and 1 window cling at their location/property. To receive more information about "Parents Who Host, Lose the Most" or to become a community partner/supporter, please contact Kevin Gallagher at kgallagh@holcombbhs.org or call him at: 484-444-0412.
