Grandpa's Closet At Vet Museum Oct. 30
The Pennsylvania Veterans Museum (PVM) will host its popular "What's in Grandpa's Closet" event from 12-3 p.m. Sat. (Oct. 30) at the Veterans Museum, 12 E. State Street in the Media. Part "Antiques Roadshow," part "History Detectives," this is a fun, FREE and educational investigation of memorabilia families may discover among the collections their grandparents or other relatives with military service have hidden in the attic.
Jeff Freeman, a PVM board member, will be joined by other experts to provide identification and evaluation of military memorabilia. Find out the nature of medals and ribbons, uniforms and those miscellaneous and mysterious objects. Those attending are asked to be cautious about ordinance and should not bring anything with live ammunition.
Entrances are on State Street as well as to the rear of the building on Baker Street which has a handicapped accessible ramp. Visitors will be welcome to tour the exhibits while at the PVM.
The Pennsylvania Veterans Museum is a non-profit organization whose mission is to preserve, protect and promote the legacy of Pennsylvania's military veterans though public education. The PVM is particularly focused on educating youth to the experiences of the veterans and the service and sacrifices made in times of war in the name of freedom.
