FREE Local Health Programs

  David Webner, MD, Crozer-Keystone Health System sports medicine physician and team physician for The Philadelphia Union, will present a seminar, “More Than Just A Headache: Understanding Concussion,” at 7 p.m., Tuesday, April 26, in the Downstairs Meeting Room of Springfield Library, 70 Powell Road.
  Free gifts and information will be available.
   He will discuss the definition of a concussion and how it occurs, the symptoms of a concussion in an athlete and the process of returning an athlete to play.
Dr. Webner will be available after the lecture to answer questions.

    Springfield Hospital is holding its annual “Cardiovascular Day”  from 8:30-11:30 a.m., Monday, April 18, in the main lobby of the hospital.
Offered will be free glucose/cholesterol screenings, 8:30-10:30 a.m. (fasting is required; nothing to eat or drink after midnight).
  There will be a comprehensive health fair, including blood pressure screenings, and informational tables from a range of Crozer-Keystone departments.
   Participants will receive free giveaways and can learn more about ways to stay healthy and happy.

   Riddle Memorial Hospital offers Look Good, Feel Better for those women undergoing treatment for cancer. The program, developed by the American Cancer Society, the Cosmetic, Toiletry and Fragrance Foundation and the National Cosmetology Association presents the latest make-up tips, as well as information on wigs, head wraps and much more.
  Each participant will receive a personal beauty kit to take home.
