FREE Internet Safety Seminar Offered
Delco Bar Presents Internet Safety Program
Members of the community are invited to attend a FREE seminar on Internet Safety, sponsored by the Community Outreach Committee of the Delaware County Bar Association 7p.m., Monday (May 23) at Springton Lake Middle School auditorium, 19 N. Providence Road, Media.
The program will focus on the following topics:
Social Media including Facebook, Formspring, and Instant Messenger; Bullying, including cyber-bullying and sexting; protecting children on line; and case studies of the negative consequences of being unprotected.
The seminar will include what parents, schools and law enforcement agencies can do to protect children on-line. Taking an active role in a child’s Internet activities will help ensure that they benefit from the valuable information it offers without being exposed to potential dangers.
The seminar format will include short presentations and an invitation for questions from the audience.
Joseph Lesniak, Esq., who currently serves as an Assistant District Attorney in Delaware County assigned to the Special Victims/Domestic Violence Division will be guest speaker. He is active with the Pennsylvania Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force prosecuting child pornography and traveler cases both at the state and federal levels. He has presented several trainings for the task force and provides legal support to the affiliates.
