Celebrate The Arts!

Bastille Day in Media
The Media Arts Council will host its fifth annual Bastille Day celebration from 5:30-10:30 p.m. on Saturday, July 9 in downtown Media.
This is the biggest 2nd Saturday Arts Stroll of the year, when State Street is closed to traffic and Media is transformed into an arts-filled scene from history.  Professional theater presentations, visual arts displays and activities, live music and dancing, and children's activities will engage visitors of all ages in this celebration of independence.
This year, the Main Stage performance features renowned Louisiana band, Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadrunners. Performing a unique combination of traditional zydeco with their own innovative, funky sound, the band will be an exciting addition to the Bastille Day celebration.
Other features include the reenactment of the Storming of Bastille, street activities including strolling performers, plein air painters, silk painting, tie dying, and several other musical performances.  The Hedgerow Theater and Media Theater provide themed performances.
Honorary chairpersons this year are from Sun Center Studio:  Guillaume Perrin, Vice President, and Allen Lane, Assistant Manager.
Bastille Day event sponsors are LaBelle Epoque and LaColombe Torrefaction, as well as the 2nd Saturday presenting sponsor, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union.
M.A.C. celebrates Bastille Day as an historic event symbolic of the freedom that paved the way for, among other things, artistic expression. The Bastille Day celebration will offer attendees of all ages a unique experience filled with art, music and historical attractions. More than 40 businesses participate, along with numerous artists, musicians, and performers.  This will be a memorable independence celebration for the entire family to enjoy.
