FREE Concerts in Local Parks

Glenolden borough council and the Parks and Recreation committee will present its “Concerts in Glenolden Park” series beginning  7 p.m.  Wed., July 6, with a performance by the Knights of Columbus De La Salle String Band and the Hegeman string band at 7 p.m.  Wednesday, July 27.
   The borough will also host two movie nights on Wednesday, Aug. 10 and Wednesday, Aug. 31. Movies will begin 7 p.m. at Glenolden Park.

  More free concerts will take place this coming week in Rose Tree Park, Upper Providence.
 
July 6 --    Peabody Ragtime Ensemble - serves up
    sizzling Dixieland music with a bit of
    Ragtime and Big Band flavoring.

July 7 --    John Hoey Orchestra -- a tribute to the
    Big Band Era, featuring the music of
    Goodman, Dorsey, Basie and Ferguson.

July 8 --    Hollowood Nights - showcasing the
    music of Bob Seger and the Silver Bullet
    Band.

July 9 --     David Stone - The Johnny Cash
    Experience  covers the music of early Johnny Cash, June Carter and the Folsom Prison Concert era.

July 10 --    U.S. Naval Academy Electric Brigade      This stellar music ensemble plays hits from
    from Lady Gaga and classic rock favorites.

July 13 --    Little Martha - recreates the Allman
    Brothers’ finest moments and brings
    listeners back to the 70s.

The Festival is held at 7:30 p.m., unless otherwise noted, in Rose Tree Park, Routes 252 and 1, Upper Providence Township. Admission is FREE. Take chairs, blankets for seating.
