FREE Community Programs Open To ALL AGES At Local Senior Center

FREE Event About The Arts

Through dance and theatre offerings, The Pennsylvania Humanities Council provides you an opportunity to learn historical dance forms, understand how a script turns into a play, and see how movement and ideas relate and influence each other.
Friendship Circle Senior Center is very excited to offer this program on Wednesday, December 1st at 1PM.  In Ballet: From Studio to Stage, Anna Drozdowski (Ethnochoreologist and arts consultant) presents a short history of the ballet genre and the specific way it is practiced in the US, using The Nutcracker as a launching point. The presentation explores a dancer's lifespan, the graying of audiences and the economic impact of the industry. Video of historic and local performances is included, making a link between the global ballet community and the specific way it is practiced in the US.
This program is being offered FREE ti the community. Start your holiday season with a visit to the ballet through this program.  For more information, please contact the Center at 610-237-6222 or visit us on the web at www.scs-delco.org.
