Art Show Opens

'Familiar Places - Paintings of Places You Know' opens June 5
Beaumont at Bryn Mawr, 610 N. Ithan Avenue, will host "Familiar Places - Paintings of Places You Know," an exhibition and sale of the 2000-2010 paintings of George Rothacker now through Aug. 4. The show features 40 canvases, predominantly of buildings and landscapes throughout Delaware County, West Philadelphia and the Main Line.
The grand opening of the exhibit will be in the main building at Beaumont and feature a wine and hors d'oeuvres reception from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday, June 5
"People in this area will recognize so many of the buildings and places," said Rothacker. "I'm showing paintings of the 69th Street sign and McClatchy Building in Upper Darby, Parvin's Pharmacy in Bryn Mawr, Fulmer's Garage in Media, the Wayne train station, and more than a dozen of small paintings of the Radnor area. I'm also including paintings of West Philadelphia, a 1941 LaSalle in Broomall, and a triptych I created of the Phillies ballpark.
"I think the public will enjoy the virtual trip through places they remember, as will the residents of Beaumont, many of whom have lived much of their lives in this area."
Call 610-566-0334 to attend the opening or e-mail george@rothackeradv.com. For more information and a sampling of paintings, visit www.georgerothacker.com/familiarplaces.html.
